Description:
The property owner approached me for advice regarding the amenity value of the apple trees and hollies in their back garden and the possibility of a restorative pruning programme for a pollarded apple tree. The owner proposes to remove both the hollies in the back garden.. the one on the left is growing close to the boundary fence and is a twin stem with a 'v' type union with included bark. The tree is a previous pollard and isn't a particularly good example of its species. As the garden is surrounded by other trees and greenery in neighbouring gardens, I have to agree that the amenity wouldn't miss this particular specimen in my professional opinion. (please see photos)The second holly to the right, is growing very close to a pollarded apple tree which is causing the holly to grow with a bend to the left and also resulting in the crown of the old apple to be right side heavy. (please see photos). Again the gardens behind have trees and greenery to support removal of the holly. The owner wants to improve growing conditions for the apple tree. Interestingly the property is built on the site of an old orchard and the owner wants to concentrate on a restorative pruning programme for the old apple and also wishes for me to carefully prune another very healthy looking apple tree growing to the right of the pollarded one. I feel the proposal make sense and is in the interest of the areas heritage and would not be to the detriment of the amenity.

Description:
We have a copper beech tree in front garden in front of the house which we would like to remove. Reasons for removal:- - blocks daylight from front of the house meaning we have to have lights on inside the house - makes entrance to house too dark. Want to remove for security reasons as when full of leaves it can be intimidating when opening the dorr at night. We were burgled a couple of years ago so want to ensure there are no hiding places for burglars. - roots of tree are putting pressure on perimeter wall which is cracking and could collapse onto pavement where school children walk past For all of the above reasons we want to remove this tree entirely.
