- Large Silver Birch tree at the front of 4 Cord Lane adjacent to the public footpath and Cord Lane. I am concerned that the tree has not grown any leaves in a year and branches are breaking and falling off. Those that fall to the ground are brittle and dead. It is in very poor condition. The very last thing I want to do is remove this tree which has been here since I moved in 21 years ago and has significant amenity value. However, I am very concerned about the fact it overhangs the pavement, is adjacent to the road and is within falling distance of two driveways and both our house and Number 3 Cord Lane. The prospect of a large branch falling and damaging a vehicle or worse still a person is causing me to take action.
