- 1. Cooking apple tree. Species unknown. 100+ years old.One large bough rotted and broke off several years ago. Another bough is now rotting and has fungus growing on it. We have removed small dead branches during the past few years.We are proposing to cut the tree down and continue to expand the orchard we have created further up the garden. Ten fruit tress have so far been planted in the past ten years, including three apples trees, with plans for a few more.2. Conifer tree. Species unknown. Planted by previous owner maybe 30-40 years ago.We are proposing to remove the tree, as it is too big and looks out place in our border. We have planted three smaller silver birch in front and a Ligustrum adjacent to it which look much better. The top of the conifer is visible from The Green and partially obstructs the view of the windmill. Overall we have planted eighteen trees of ten different varieties in the past twelve years, in addition to the ten fruit trees.
