- We wish to remove the bay tree completely. It grows so quickly as to become unmanageable. We have no means to prune it, in fact attempts to thin the tree only promoted more growth. The tree is now the height of the neighbouring 4 story house in Hova Villas. The tree completely blocks their light being west facing. This is causing issues of damp and damage to their building. The neighbours have complained and are now taking further steps. The tree is also leaning against an original flint wall and damaging it too. Note: the tree is in the communal garden of 41 Ventnor Villas. I do not own the tree, as freeholders we all do. The bay tree was just a pot plant an old neighbour left when they moved. It has no conservation value and is damaging things such as walls and property that have been here since 1870.
