Description:
.T 1, a Leyland Cypress stands between a mature Holly (T2) and a mature Corsican Pine to the north and a mature group of tress (G1, 3 Yews, 1 Irish Yew, 4 Holly and 1 Cherry Laurel) to the south. The growth of the Leyland Cypress is inhibiting light and space to the holly to the north (T2) and from the trees in G1. Its removal would help boost the vitality of T2 and G1 which have higher amenity value and vitality values. The tree T1 has little amenity value and is obscured from general sight by the Corsican Pine to the north or a Golden Lawson's Cypress to the west. The Leyland Cypress is the youngest tree in this area of the grounds and its appearance is out of kilter with the setting and grouping of more mature and suitable trees such as the Hollies, Yews and Irish Yews. The Leyland Cypress stands more than one metre from a neighbouring privet hedge, and it is hoped that its removal will boost the vitality of this hedge. Description:
It is proposed to reduce T1, the Fir by up to 30%. The Fir was planted c16 years ago in a gap in the borders of the garden by previous owners of the house. The Fir has split into 4 stems, 2 co-dominant, two lesser at 4 meters. A nearby Lawson's Cypress has had support braces fitted to hold in the multi stemmed branching at 4 meters. In that time, the group of trees it was planted amongst (Yews, Irish Yew, Holly trees Laurel and Elder trees) have matured but the Fir has prominently outgrown its position alongside this smaller group (clearly seen in Photo 3). Its prominent position means it takes significant light from the rear garden and rear aspect of No 6 Beechfield Rd leaving the house and garden in persistent shade and dominates the outlook form the garden (Photo 2).Such is the size of T1, the Fir, it casts shade into the rear garden and aspect of No 12 Beechfield Rd especially in ht afternoon as the sun has moved round. The Holly T2, is heavily suppressed on the north east side with substantial stem lean and crown bias to the south west, directly over the drive affording vehicular and pedestrian access to the front of 8 Beechfield Rd. Permission is sought to reduce crown weight by up to 30% to redress danger and ensure continued health of the tree. HARCA26, TPO 57.

Description:
Over 60 trees on the property are covered by the TPO No 57 (Cheadle and Gatley UDC). This application is to deal with a Lawson's Cypress of no amenity value, not observable anywhere but from the ground of the property, that is heavily suppressed and is showing signs of dieback.A Lawson's Cypress (T1) situated in the gardens of the house is heavily suppressed to the north due to the close proximity of a larger dominant Spruce (T2). The Cypress is also heavily suppressed on its east due to the former close proximity of another Lawson's cypress which has died and was felled. This Cypress has no amenity value is heavily misshapen and is now showing signs of decay and dieback. The Cypress is not visible outside the property due to a ring of more mature larger trees and its removal (before it dies) will allow more light and air to benefit a group of two fellow Lawson's Cypress and a Portuguese Laurel (G3) that are partially suppressed by the ailing Cypress. Description:
Photos 1 and 4 show the dominance of a Spruce (Picea sp) which despite work undertaken by the previous owners some 10 years or more ago has continued to grow. It now has a negative impact on sunlight into the rear of properties No10 and 12 Beechfield road. For that reason we seek permission to reduce by up to 8m and the adjacent Lawson's Cypress by 5m for the same reasons. Photos 2 and 5 show a Lawson's Cypress with two co-dominant stems and one secondary stem This tree is in the easterly corner of the property and is adjacent to 14 Holmefield Dr and the rear of 18 Beechfield Rd and properties on Glandon Drive. All the residents of these properties have commented on with concern to us about the perceived 'whip' of the tree in winds and perceived danger. Our tree surgeon has seen no indication to believe there is a current issue, but due to the concerns of our neighbours and remembering we lost a mature copper beech tree in the winds of January 2014 we believe it is prudent to reduce the two co-dominant stems by up to 10m (or remove the stems) to alleviate the risk. Photo 3 shows a Horse chestnut in the west of the garden at its junction with Holmefield Drive. This tree is adjacent to a yew subject to illegal tree works by others. Permission is sought to thin the Chestnut by 25% to allow the Yew to be rebalanced in light of the illegal works. Permission is sought to have the Yew rebalanced by a trained arborist.
