- Description:
- I have a healthy English Oak tree in my back garden on the boundary with that of my neighbour, the trunk being on my side of the fence. Since then the Oak has been able to assume a more balanced canopy. However, in the past, less than sympathetic pruning of its lower branches (before I owned the property) has now resulted in some ungainly growth which is currently stretching outward across my lawn to the detriment of plants, grass and humans alike. This is illustrated in the attached picture 'Tree7'. I would like permission to remove the lowest two branches seen just above the line of the top of the fence on the right hand side of the picture in 'Tree 2' and 'Tree 4', taken from the churchyard and looking towards my property at a time of year when the branch structure was more visible. I would also like permission to carry out any low level MINOR cosmetic pruning which may be required to maintain a balanced and manageable shape and would not compromise the overall canopy.
