Planning applications

- Type:
- Amendments or alterations arising from an existing or previous application
- Status:
- Decision has yet to be made
- Address:
- North Lodge Gatton Bottom Merstham Redhill Surre
- Description:
- The application is for the repair of the bund and associated soft landscaping. The bund was originally built with a council grant and the councils permission, after my land and property were flooded 24/12/2011. This bund was subsequently breached on 08/08/2020 and my home and land were flooded again. A secondary bund has been created near to my boundary as a second line of defence to try and ensure that the original bund does not get breached again and to direct the flood water to the road and ditches and soak aways and not through my house and garden. The bund is below the permitted 2m boundary height and has been done with the agreement of my neighbour Mr Mike Doble, as it also gives us protection from his organised motorbike races right next to my land and property. It also gives us a small amount of protection from the associated dust and noise of motorbike races and also a safety measure should there be a motorbike crash and I, my family or grazing animals are out. The land has been allowed to grass back over and wild meadow seed sown, fruit trees have also been planted and an Apiary created. The bund also creates a wind break for the hives and some protection from the loud revving of the motorbikes which bees find very disturbing.
