Description:
The Larch tree in our back garden is causing problems for our neighbours. It also has a damaged trunk caused by bad pruning in the past. I am asking to cut it down. The Larch tree is on the right side of the back garden when looking from the house, approximately 12m from the back of the garage, 3m from the greenhouse and 1m from the edge of the conservation area. The tree is 10-15m high. (See photograph) I have received a letter from a neighbour complaining about the vast amount of catkins and seeds that the tree deposits in her (and other neighbours) gardens in May/June each year. At 75 with arthritis, she finds it difficult to clear up the mess, and the dandelion like seeds are causing her son breathing problems. He suffers from several medical conditions including chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder which effects his breathing. This year he has suffered from continual coughing and breathing difficulties for the 2-3 weeks whilst the seeds floated around the area. In addition, the tree has been badly pruned in the past. Amongst other issues, a branch about 2m from the ground was cut off leaving about 2ft stub. This has since gone rotten and fallen off, but not before the rot effected the truck and weakened the whole tree. This is a windy day accident waiting to happen. I am happy to plant a replacement tree. HAR/CA10 , TPO 72N.
