Description:
There are five beech trees at the bottom of the garden of 37 Broadway. These trees overhang and due to the height of two of them, excessively shade our gardens in the summer months when covered in leaves for the majority of the afternoon, from approx. midday until 6pm. It is our intention to plant a number of small fruit trees next year if there is an improvement in the amount of sunlight in the garden. I have discussed with the owners who are happy that with the agreement of the council that the height of the tress are reduced. I have also consulted with a tree surgeon regarding the 5 trees which vary in size as shown on the attached sketch. The proposal is as follows: Tree 1 - cut the overhanging branches to reduce the crown by 15% Tree 2 - reduce the crown by 25-30% Tree 3 - removal due to close proximity to the other trees and the overhang on next doors garden. No issues with the height. Tree 4 - remove. Is very small and has limited space. Tree 5 - reduce the crown by 25-30% The main objective is to reduce the height of tree 3 and 5 to improve the sunlight in the garden during the summer months, but to retain the overall shape of the trees. TPO 88W.
