- Type:
- Tree and hedge works
- Status:
- Status not known
- Address:
- 1 Clutha Road Davenport Stockport
- Description:
- Cypress (T6) - FELL. Roots have impacted on internal path, lifting paving slabs and making the path dangerous. If left will impact on footpath, retaining wall and gatepost. (See photos 5&6). Fir (T8) - FELL. Tree trunk is 7ft from the house. Roots have spread at least 18 ft from the trunk and have impacted on the path, including between the tree and the house. Location of the tree affects access to the property for maintenance (e.g. roof repairs, painting). We are not intending to replace this tree. Cypress (T9) - FELL. Roots impacting on retaining wall. (see photos 1,2,3 & 4) Cypress (T10) - FELL. Roots impacting on retaining wall. (see photos 1,3 & 4) Cypress (T7) - REDUCE HEIGHT to approx 6 ft to prevent further growth and damage to retaining wall. NOTE: this tree has recently (2018) started to show signs of die-back which may be due to unsuitability for clay soil and extreme wet/drought recently suffered. Hawthorn (T5) - FELL. Impeding adjacent Holly tree. Fir (possibly Juniperus variety) (T1, T2, T3, T4) - FELL. Planted by previous owner as quick-growing cover*, but now growing thin at base (so reducing cover). Roots are growing well into lawn and probably equally so on the public highway outside. To be replaced by Rhododendron hedge as originally planted*, as is much of the boundary already and in keeping with the era of the property. (* as advised by our neighbours) Replacement trees to be planted around the garden: 2 x Acer; 1 x Magnolia; 1 x Silver Birch; 1 x ornamental cherry; 2 x fruit trees.
