Planning
March 2017
- Type:
- Unknown type
- Status:
- Status not known
- Address:
- The Old Farm House Church Road Branston Lincoln Lincolnshir
- Description:
- It is proposed that radial crown reduction of no more than 3m (to the nearest growthPoint and not on branches greater than 75mm in diameter) be undertaken on T1-T3(see Images 2 and 3). This is intended to reduce the encroachment of the canopy overthe house, gardens, adjacent road and phone-lines and to reduce the shading caused. Itis also proposed that the crowns of T1-T3 be lifted to a height of 3m above thefootpath, road and neighboring driveway in order to prevent them from obstructingtraffic and pedestrians. It is proposed that the work be carried out during the dormant season in order toreduce the risk of disease entering the cuts and to avoid disturbance of nesting birds. It is considered that crown reduction of this nature would not unduly affect the longtermaesthetic and amenity value of the tree.
February 2017
- Type:
- Tree and hedge works
- Status:
- Status not known
- Address:
- The Old Farm House Church Road Branston Lincoln Lincolnshir
- Description:
- This application concerns 4x semi-mature prunus trees located in the applicant's garden, shown as T4-T7. The trees are considered to be untidy by the applicant and therefore have reduced visual amenity value. T5 and T7 in particular contain significant water growth and crossing branches. It is proposed that T5 and T7 undergo crown thinning of no more than 30% including removal of dead, damaged, diseased and dying wood whilst T4 and T6 undergo crown thinning of no more than 20% including removal of dead, damaged, diseased and dying wood. This is to increase the visual amenity value of the trees, increase light into the tree canopies and remove wood potentially damaging to the health of the trees. The work will be carried out during summer months in order to reduce the risk of silver leaf and canker entering the trees. However, the trees will be inspected prior to commencement of work in order to avoid disturbance of any nesting birds which may be present.
