- Reduce crown by about 2m to no more that previous in most recent reduction points one sycamore (T1) in the rear garden of 21 Castellain Road. T1 is to the right, when looking towards the rear boundary. The tree is self-sown and is located very close to the left and right boundary walls. The tree is about 18 m tall and dominates the rear garden and causes significant shade. It is not visible from the public highway and therefore the public amenity value is small. The sycamore T1 is a very large tree for a very small garden which causes significant shading and encroachment towards the house. The tree has a diameter crown spread of approximately 11 m. It is intended to reduce its height to 15 m and its spread to 6 m. This work is considered to be appropriate in the circumstances and is within arboricultural acceptable limits. The tree is now encroaching on the roof and gutter causing extensive water damage by blocking the gutters in over the winter period. The tree requires regular maintenance so as not to cause damage to the main house and neighbouring houses in the vicinity as it is located too close to the houses. The roots are also continuing to grow and undermine the foundations of the house and neighbouring property.
