Description:
Submission of details required by condition 5 part d (Window WF02) of listed building consent S/0763/17/LB. Conditions 5a, 5b and 5c were approved in application S/4410/18/DC. Therefore, if approved, this application to discharge Condition 5d means all conditions of Condition 5 for application S/0763/17/LB will be satisfied. Initial exploratory investigations into the proposed method of insertion of window WF02 clearly show the location of historical timber beams. The spacing between the historic beams is sufficient for insertion of Window WF02, photos are included in attached notes. Note that only modern plasterboard, tiles and fibreglass insulation were removed during the investigation, no historic fabric was removed or disturbed during this process. Method of insertion of window WF02:a) Carefully remove the plaster panel between the existing beams at the location of WF02, using unpowered hand tools to create an opening for the new window.b) Protect the exposed walls and opening during the works using plastic sheeting.c) Check and inspect the condition of the timber frame. Repair using seasoned oak and traditional carpentry methods if required. d) Insert window WF02 (horizontal sliding sash) and make secure as per approved application S/0763/17/LB within the opening, between timber beams.e) Repair adjacent internal plaster panels using traditional lime plaster. f) Repair external render around the new window using traditional materials and methods ??? see attached datasheet.
