Description:
Yew Tree - fell because of a number of security issues (crimes), littering, damage to ours and neighbours' property - cars, drainage, driveway, berries are fatal if ingested, excessive upkeep costs to reduce crown to manageable size every 12 months and excessive car washing. Replant with silver birch or blossom tree in same position. Allow works to be carried out on driveway for drainage to reduce flooding to front of house without damaging roots which are preventing neighbours from doing the same too, roots are visible 6-8 metres away from tree trunk and have damaged front garden and driveway on both properties (105 and 107). No works can be carried out to prevent flooding and associated costs due to the roots and all companies who have quoted have said their insurance won't cover any damage caused to roots of protected tree. For 6 years we spend upwards of 100 a month on car washing due to bird poo which is constant, several times a day as branches overhang ours and neighbours; drives and cars. Also cars, drive and pathway are covered by the tree's berries, which make a jam like substance on the public road outside when in season which in turn, damages the carpets and welcome mats of ourselves and neighbours. We jetwash at our own expense (when litter picking behind the tree) to eliminate complaints from neighbours and walkers. These berries are fatal if ingested and who would be liable if this was to happen to the many dog/puppy walkers who pass on their way to Abney and Carrs Road park when we applied in 2019 to have it fell. We have 2 young children living with us who cannot play out of the front due to number of berries when in season, they ruin carpets and mats which are costly to replace as cleaning cannot get rid of them when trodden in, worse than chewing gum, spent over 300 replacing and paying for carpet cleaners. Excessive littering and cans of legal highs, dog poo etc. thrown into the area behind the tree at an extra inconvenience to us.

Description:
-Yew tree is overgrown causing excessive shading. Berries cause damage to paintwork and there is no natural light to front of house. There is a high concern on the tree providing coverage to criminals, trees provide a hiding place for a lookout. 107 last week we had an attempted robbery of bikes on car rack and a car was stolen in July 2017. We have had insurance claims which leave us out of pocket. Excessive littering, including dog cat and bird poo which is not hygienic. Car wash total £60 to £120 per month. Tree is overhanging our wall and public footpath. All pedestrians and passers-by complain of overhanging tree blocking light with bird poo on public footpath. Drainage issues cannot be resolved. Would like to arrange landscaping to drive and front garden as the tree roots are too big and the extra cost due to drainage issues. CCTV is hindered due to yew tree size, would like to re-plant with a Silver Birch.TPO: 33N
