Address:
53 St Lesmo Road Edgeley Stockpor
Description:
My client wishes to retain the right boundary side (as you view from the road) to the front garden of their property. There is a significant level change from the front elevation of the property to the front gate (some 2m + in height) and an existing landslide has occurred to this right hand boundary effectively meaning there is unretained soil cascading down to ground level. The neighbouring garden (right side as viewed from the road) houses a mature Lime tree (410W) Tree 1 in Sketch plan, which is covered by a T.P.O. The canopy of Tree 1 extends over almost half of the clients garden meaning the roots will extend well within the garden and the graded soil which needs to be retained. The client needs to carry out works within the front garden in able to make the area safe and therefore requests permission to carry out remedial work to retain the soil levels. Within this work there is likely to be some disruption of the trees root system.Ideally the retaining boundary would be a walled structure enabling the client to use the front section of the garden for a parking space inset within the front garden.Description of Works :Build retaining wall to contain existing landslide soil (1.6m high from lowest point at FGL at front boundary,to be designed by Structural engineer)Excavation of existing soil to take place 4 m away from centre of Tree Stem. N.B Tree is set above the level of works by 1.4 m so would only affect the very lower roots very minimally. TPO: 410W
