- Description:
- Tree Type: PIN8 Scots Pine. Tree Number: Z20520. This tree currently has permission from the council to 'prune back branches to provide 1m clearance from telephone pole and phonelines'. We have sought advise from Cedardale Arboricultural Specialists, who have proposed to also carry out the following on another of the pine's branches: 'Shorten back to suitable live growth long branch over garden by approximately 2.5 to give a finished radius of approximately 2.5metres and remove dead wood down to approximately 25mm from one mature Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris)'. This branch is currently greatly overhanging the driveway and is cutting out light from a front bedroom and regularly drops debris onto our cars and driveway . The dead growth up the side of the trunk has recently begun falling, causing damage to our cars and may pose a further risk if not cleared. We therefore would like permission for the works, suggested by Cedardale, to be carried out.

- Description:
- Tree type: PIN8, Tree Number: Z20520. Application for tree felling to ground level. This tree is on the corner of our driveway. Its branches are entangling the telephone wires to neighboring properties. Leaves, when fallen are blocking up both house drains and main street storm drains. Since we have moved in (May 2016) we have noticed cracking and lifting of concrete in the drive way, which we believe is being caused by root damage. This is running close to the house. Drains run in close proximity and there is the possibility that the roots will or have already, encroached into the drainpipes. This tree has several large branches which are overhanging the house and driveway. During the recent high winds, we have had a number of sizable branches falling onto the house and cars in the drive way or road. If one of the large, low hanging branches were to fall this could cause considerable damage to our property, cars and other cars parked within the vicinity. Due to the large number of surrounding trees and very limited space, we are proposing that a replacement tree will not be planted. There are 4 surrounding tress with TPO status, therefore Z20520 has a very low public amenity value.
