- Description:
- Works:T1: Ash- Fell to ground level.T2 &T3: Maple Reduce crowns by 2m using Reduction Via Thinning and clear building by 2m.RVT - involves the removal of a primary foliage bearing branches back to naturally occurring pruning points within the crown to subtly reduce and thin the canopy. The method removes small percentages of the foliage bearing branches back to the best, naturally occurring pruning points within the canopy as per BS3998.Justification:T1: The ash tree is showing signs of Ash Die Back disease. ADB is a serious disease of ash trees caused by the fungus Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (previously called Chalara fraxinea). The disease causes leaf loss and crown dieback in affected trees and can lead to the death of the tree. Trees that are killed by ADB can become dangerous and unsafe to climb. Due to the trees location it would not be possible to access the tree with a MEWP and removing the tree once it is dead would be very challenging and expensive. It therefore makes sense to remove the tree before it becomes a threat. T2&T3: The trees are an important component of the garden. However, they are becoming dominant and arguably too big for the location. Regular sensitive reductions will maintain a viable leaf bearing crown and enable the trees to be maintained at a size where they can continue to be an asset.
