The function and use of the building is not changing, we are just replacing the ageing wooden structure with more efficient and sound construction materials.The process includes the deconstruction of existing lean-to structure, digging of foundations and construction works to build replacement extension. A warm deck roof and better insulation is all part of the design to meet the correct U values for the orangery style build.All efforts to match brick works and maintain the existing style of the house are being made.Works were starter under the assumption of permitted development, although we did also apply for a Lawful Development Certificate, reference application 10857. This was refused on grounds relating to the height of the eaves of the new works would exceed the height of the current dwellings, this is due to the warm deck roof and maintaining the internal floor and ceiling heights.
