We would like to have the tree removed because given a) it's very close proximity to the house and b) that it is fast growing tree, there is a risk of damage to our house either if it were to fall in a storm and/or from its root system reaching the foundations of our house if they have not already done so. The tree is approximately 1.6m from our single storey garage and approximately 2.5m from the main structure of the house. This species of tree typically has a wide reaching root system, reaching up to 3 times the size of the canopy. The tree is not particularly attractive compared with the other trees on our or neighbouring plots (apple, ash, silver birch). We would replace the tree with a different species, something more attractive like a fruit tree, and positioned approximately 1.5m further in front of the house / closer to the road.
