- Description:
- T1 - Dead elm - to be removed down to ground level before it becomes dangerousT2 - Elder - to be removed down to ground levelT3 - Hawthorn - to be pollarded to a height of 3 - 4 meters and covering of ivy removedT4 - Damson - to be pollarded to a height of 3 - 4 meters and covering of ivy removedTrees T1, T2, T3 and T4 are all located in a narrow strip of land at the south-east end of our garden running alongside the small stream that separates our garden from the adjacent farmland. There is a chaotic jumble of trees on both banks of the stream, and T3 and T4 are completely covered by ivy, cutting out almost all sunlight to the bottom of the garden. The precise boundary of the Padbury Conservation Area is not clear but we assume that the area includes our garden and the land on our side of the stream.T5 - Greengage - to be reduced by approximately 3 metres and shaped to suit. This tree has never born any worthwhile fruit in the past six years - we hope that reduction and shaping may encouage it to fruit.T6 - Ornamental crab - canopy to be reduced by approximately 40% and shaped to suit. This tree is close to our house and partially overhangs the adjacent building belonging to The Well House. In past years it has had attractive blossom but this year there has been none. We wish to reduce its height and the extent to which it overhangs our neighbours' property, and hope that the pruning will encourage it to flower again.

The tree is also giving excessive shading to front of cottage and is really now too large for its position.
