Description:
Further to our previous tree works proposal (granted), when removing the Ash Sapling (T2) and cutting back the Privet / Box bush, we've discovered the Hawthorn (T20) is very leggy, leaning over and has an unattractive form. We now propose to remove T20 and plant a mature Yew formal hedge (root ball) along the north boundary with the Methodist Church. This is shown on the drawing provided. Further to our previous tree works, when pruning the Rhododendrons (T14, 15 & 16), this has exposed the small Silver Birch (T21), which was suppressed by the Rhododendron. It subsequently has limited foliage and a very unnatural form. We now propose to remove T21 to low stump. HAR/CA35.

Description:
The trees and hedges of this proposal are located within the Alexandra Park Edgeley Conservation Area. Advice has been taken by an Arborist at Tree Station and a Tree Surgeon from Alderwood Tree Care.T1 - Large Birch tree in the back garden, which has previously been pollarded, has poor structure and an unnatural form. There is also a concern (not proven) that this tree is causing subsidence to the courtyard, which is then pulling on the back wall of the house, opening a crack under the sill of the upstairs window further.Remove tree to low stump and stump grind, to protect the rear of the house. T2 - Ash Sapling, Hawthorn, Holly intertwined in a wire fence, along the northern boundary of the back garden, adjacent to the Methodist Church Hall.Remove Ash Sapling to low stump, to protect Church Hall foundations. A herbicide is to be used on the Ash to prevent regrowth. On the western boundary, the wooden fence will wrap around the Holly tree, up to the Beach Hedge.T3 - Small Birch tree, suppressed by Holly (T4), along the western boundary. The tree has a very bad structure and will always struggle under the canopy of the Holly.Remove to low stump.T4 - Single stemmed Holly along the western boundary.Reduce height by approximately 1.5m and shape, including reducing lower branches growing over the boundary to the adjacent Church property.T5 - Leggy Hawthorn with deadwood, limited foliage and an unattractive form at the southern end of the hedge separating the front garden from the Lane. The tree has competed with the adjacent Lime trees of the Church (recently receiving a crown lift), causing it to grow over the Lane.Remove to low stump and stump grind, to allow the extension of the front wall / fence wrapping around on to the green lane with a gate this will improve privacy and security to the front garden and close off.HARC/A35.
