Tree and hedge works
Status:
Status not known
Address:
Hillside Stamford Road Duddington Stamford Northamptonshire
Description:
This application refers to one tree subject to Tree Preservation order No. 18 . Duddington, 1983, one of the trees in the group G9 on the TPO. The particular tree subject to this application is the westernmost of the two trees on the TPO. it is identified on the enclosed site plan as T 4 and in the enclosed Arboriculturalists report as No.4. The tree is a silver birch ( Betula Pendula ) This application follows on from work that has begun following Planning Application 17 - 01230 - FUL The tree is described as follows in the Arboriculturalists report that accompanied the above planning application: "Single trunk, moderate ivy cover on lower trunk, base partially inspected only. Trunk strongly fluted. Main fork at 3m into 3 ascending stems N, S and W. Open crown structure, with over- extended and wind-exposed branching. Some dead wood and incipient dieback. Potentially susceptible to windsnap failures on main branches. Of no more than moderate quality, but of some landscape value" In this application we are applying for permission to remove a single low branch that radiates north easterly from the tree and this is shown in the attached photo. The reason for this is to rebalance the symmetry of the tree ; remove excessive shading of the new lawn and prevent interference with the amenity space of the garden by this low hanging branch which is growing laterally and has exhibited much stronger growth than the rest of the tree. The branch will be removed back to the branch union in accordance with BS3998. At the same time all ivy will be removed from the tree and dead wood removed . Once the building work is complete, the overall garden will be replanted and redesigned as part of the overall project.
