Planning applications

- Type:
- Tree and hedge works
- Status:
- Status not known
- Address:
- Shorton Cottage 47 Shorton Road Paignton
- Description:
- The trees are ash trees within a copse area of my garden. There are at least six included in this application. The trees are less than 30 years old so are not covered by the area TPO but are covered by conservation area protection. The trees are known to be infected with Ash Die back and have now been assessed as dead by an arborist. There are six trees, all of which are near the boundary and if they fall in the direction of the road would fall into it and could cause hazard or harm to others. There is also potential that they could damage other healthier trees within the copse area if they are allowed to fall. I propose to fell the trees urgently - within the next week. Particularly given the frequent storms we are having this winter. Due to this being an inaccessible area, a specific replanting schedule is not feasible. However, as a largely wild area, self seeding and new growth are already prevalent including both sycamore and ash saplings. This should easily retain the amenity value.

- Description:
- A large tree branch (which appears dead) has started to break off of a main tree trunk, it has 'taken' the branch of another healthy tree with it and it appears likely further damage will be caused once the branch detaches completely. The trees are within my garden so no risk to the public but the garden is used by my family to walk our dog. Extensive wildlife also use the area. The trees are also within a few metres of our drive way. I have attached photos. Can I go ahead and get these damaged branches removed on safety grounds
