- I need to cut down a tree in my property. It's an Ash tree (Fraxinus excelsior) at the rear of my property.Reason to cut it: it's very close to my house (less than 2 metres and the branches have damaged the roof. I have contacted a tree surgeon (Garwood Tree Management, 07760 108775 garwoodtm@btinternet.com) and agreed that the best approach is to cut it down, as even if we trimm it it'll get worse with time. Other risks of the tree are that is right next to a shed (which has been damaged in windy conditions by the branches), it's damaging the separation fence with other 2 neighbours and the roots are next to waterpipes.Wild life: there're plenty of trees in the area (oaks, pines, ahses and others). No birds have been seen nesting on the tree.
