Description:
Proposal From reference numbers on Landscape plan:1. Remove short length bay hedge - driveway opening being widened. Replaced with brick pillar matching other side and planting as per landscape plan2. Remove Yew (and shrub immediately in front of it) - to allow stone wall to be built on boundary line. 3. Reshape small Holme Oak (shrub height) - Pleaching lower half then reshaping top half into a "ball" shape. Reduction of no more than 20%.4. Remove Bay shrub - Replace with planting as per landscape plan.5. Remove Laurel - Replace with different shrubs/planting as per landscape plan.6. Remove tree next to Cherry (unsure of species but is in poor health).7. Bank of 3 clumps of large Bay - to remove left clump, of remaining two clumps take back to reduce depth by a third, and thin at base to filter some light into area - no reduction to height - retains amenity value and screening to neighbours property.8. Remove Bay to the left of the pollarded Holme oak - area relandscaped as per plan.9. The large hedge - retain the two Holme Oaks that form the arch - reduce in height by half and pleach. Residual bay and mixed shrub species to be removed and replaced with small pleached trees and planting as per landscape plan. 10. Remove tree in well (toxic bark, harmful to children - sumach?) and replace with planting (hydrangeas etc) as per landscape plan.11. Reduce Bay by 50% and reshape to follow existing shaping.12. Cut back Laurel and Bay shrubs adjoining our property to allow access to create foundations. Reduce height of Bays adjacent to boundary line by a third, thin by 50% at base. (based on advice by horticulturist) Laurels cut to 2 feet above ground height and allow regrowth after wall construction finished, aiming for maintained/maximal height of 8 feet over time. Low amenity value at current time, significant loss of light. New design aids proper maintenance going forward.
