We live in a conservation area and have large lime tree in our garden. A tree surgeon has informed us that due to a large seam running through the base of the tree and the fact that the tree backs onto a field making it prone to high winds there is a real risk of the tree (or some large branches) falling onto our house within the next 12 to 24 months. We therefore need to remove the tree and replace with 2 or 3 smaller trees further away from the house.
