- T1 Beech Tree, This tree use to co-habit the space with another beech tree which has recently been removed. This tree has now been left one side completely exposed to the prevailing on closer inspection 2 woodpecker holes have been identified approx. 18ft up on the main stem. following our climbing inspection we identified the extent of the cavity minimum of 25" from base to top and extends 12" in from entrance of hole. Pic attached. The cavity as mentioned is approx. 18ft up main stem the whole canopy of the tree sits above the extensive decay cavity. Cavity indicating that the structural strength of the tree is compromised with the canopy acting as a sail area to its newly exposed position. This creates reasonable expectations of tree failure with high risk to person and property. Although the removal of the tree is detrimental to the coast line seen, we believe the stability/safety of this tree out weight its amenity value. Due to the site and replant already subject to previous planning consent, no replant is recommended. Replant from planning application TP/19/00755/X would have better growing space to mature uncompromised by other competing trees.
