- 11 Frouds Close Hoo
- Description:
- TPO Ref - HDC74 11/10/1979 - Tree not individually markedRecent tree works (approved 16/00905/TPO) raised concern about the health of an Oak Tree (referred to as T1) in the garden of 11 Frouds Close. A specialist assessment was conducted and this found:. Oak T1 to be infected with three fungal pathogens: Armillaria sp. (Honey Fungus), Fistulina hepatica and an unidentified bracket fungus whose fruit body was in an advanced state of decay. All three fungi cause decay or woody tissues. . Substantial decay has been found on the buttress roots on the eastern and western aspects of T1 resulting in a potential hazard and a moderate risk of windthrow. . The stem of T1 was sound however leaves in the crown were yellow (chlorotic) which may be a sign of significant decay in sub-surface rootsWe are therefore concerned about the safety of T1. Permission is requested to fell T1 and to replace it (replacement species to be English Oak or another recommended by the Tree Preservation Officer).
