- I confirm the intention is to remove dead wood and some diseased wood where necessary. The tree surgeon says this will reduce the overall height by 1/3rd. He said that this is a very old willow with limited future life but hopefully some years..The tree is a 60 year old weeping willow close to front of house. Two photos are attached. Tree Surgeon recommendation is to cut out diseased wood reducing height buy approx. 1/3 existing. Tree is close to house and partly overhanging front path and now considered a safety hazard. .
