- Description:
- T1 - Poplar - Co-dominant stems and union at approx. 1m from base. Reduce crown by reducing by a maximum of 3m in length. Remove lowest primary limbs to a create of 1m to power line. Reasons: To facilitate clearance of the power lines and remove the encroachment on the property from the lower limbs and to reduce the loading of the co-dominant stems by reducing the size of the crown. T2 - Sycamore - Strip of decay approx 2m from base. Coppice to a height of 1ft. Reasons: Because of the decay and that the tree is now exposed to wind from a new direction after an existing line of Monterey Cypress have been removed. G3 - Line of 6 Cypress & 1 suppressed leaning Ash - Located along boundary of neighbouring bungalow 24 Shaston Road. Fell (1x dead, 1x co-dominant stem at approx. 4m high with inclusion and failed stem at approx. 3m high hung up in neighbouring tree). Reasons: Because some of the trees have failed (please see annotated photos) and there is potential for damage to a bungalow situated nearby from another tree due to their location. G5 - Ash - Tri-dominant stems have failed. Along boundary of neighbouring bungalow 24 Shaston Road. Coppice to a height of 1m. - Type:
- Tree and hedge works
- Status:
- Status not known
- Address:
- Stourpaine Manor Shaston Road Stourpaine Dorse
- Description:
- G1 - Group of 14 Monterey Cypress plus small Ash and Sycamore within line of trees - Fell - The Monterey Cypress are in decline, there is die back and dead branches throughout the trees, some of these forming hangers. Many of the smaller Monterey Cypress trees have died completely or failed in previous storms. There are multiple dead stems on several of the larger trees and failed limbs. Throughout the canopies there are crossing branches that have potential for failure. An outbuilding has already been removed due to falling debris and there is concern of the encroachment on to the property and potential damage in the future should any of the trees fail in part or as a whole. Removal of this line of Monterey Cypress will reveal the mixed deciduous woodland trees growing behind and this will provide for a more natural look to the area. The trees can be replaced with Birch, Alder, Rowan, Cherry, Beech, Hornbeam, Oak, Maple, Sweet Chestnut and Wild Service tree to provide a diversity for nature.
