Description:
T.1 Silver Birch Betula pendula (neighbour's tree at No 43): Prune back up to 3 metres of lower lateral foliage growing over boundary fence. T.2 Sweet Chestnut Castanea sativa (decayed and dying stem): Section fell to ground level. T.3 Sweet Chestnut in centre of garden: Section fell to ground level and re-plant with similar species tree. This tree has significant decay at the base of the tree and evidence (fruiting body) of Beefsteak fungus Fistulina hepatica is present. Stem hollowness was observed using a plastic mallet. The tree is leaning towards the house, over the children's play area.T.4 and T.5 Lawson Cypress Chamaecyparis lawsoniana: Section fell to ground level and replant with two Sweet Chestnut trees. These trees will eventually grow into the crown of the nearby Sweet Chestnut trees and will become a greater eyesore. T.6 and T.7 Sweet Chestnut 4 x multi-stem tree and single stem tree: Up to 4 metre crown reduction to leave a pair of 12 metre high trees. This multi-stemmed tree has significant decay at the base of the tree and evidence (fruiting body) of Beefsteak fungus Fistulina hepatica is present. Stem hollowness in three stems was observed using a plastic mallet. Reducing the height of the trees will mitigate against stem failure during high winds, allowing you to retain the trees for longer.T.8 Sweet Chestnut (neighbour's tree at No 39): Crown lift to 6 metres over north-eastern corner. T.9 Common Holly Ilex aquifolium (neighbour's tree at No 39): Prune back foliage growing over boundary fence. T.10 Common Laburnum Laburnum anagyroides: Poor form and with a significant lean over garden play area. Section fell to ground level.
