Description:
Requesting consent for removal of 5 Leylandii trees. On moving to the property, I would like to discuss with the neighbours the removal of the Leylandii that are on the boundary of the properties and have been flagged as overgrown in the acquisition survey and in need of removal. Four Leylandii trees have been planted very tightly together as a hedge many years ago, plus one separate that is close to these four also (5 in total). These have been planted close to the house with little thought as to how they would mature and the impact they would have. These currently overshadow the house and reduce the sunlight in the garden of the neighbours. I understand these have previously been reduced in height but have grown back very quickly. It is estimated that the are 4 together are approximately 40 to 50 feet high.A fence has been built to cover the 4 trunks as shown in the photos as nothing else would grow. The intention would be to remove the fence once the trees have been removed and replace with a privet hedge to match either side of the fence. I am also concerned that Leylandii root balls are relatively small and shallow, so they are prone to wind rock and could cause damage to the property. We would like to remove all the Leylandii trees (5 in total) and plant them with something more appropriate to the size of the garden and with more consideration to our neighbours. Description:
Application to fell 1 Pine Tree located in the front garden of 105 Swann Lane. The tree is not covered by a TPO but is within the Conservation Area. The tree is located too close to the property and is also leaning slightly towards. It appears to be in poor health with excessive browning. Pruning is not seen as an option. There is also a risk of root damage to the drains of the house which are located in very close proximity to the tree as can be seen on the attached drainage plan. TPO#: 132W, HAR/CA26.
