Fell Horse Chestnut. The tree has been inspected by James Jesson from the woodland trust. He has reported that the tree is 80% dead. it has the decease Phytophthora. It has extensive rot around the base 2 3/4. Had previous failures and needs to be taken down before it falls and causes substantial damage The tree overhangs a public foot path and backs on to the tropical house of Woodthorpe Park. If the tree were to fall it could cause major damage to Woodthorpe Park greenhouses. I have already sent evidential pictures to the council.
