Description:
The 50-foot-long tall mixed hedge at the back of the garden consisting of Hawthorn (Crataegus Monogyna), Plum (Prunus Domestica), Hazel (Corylus Avellana), Birch (Betula Pubescens) and other species is to be reduced in height from 25-35-feet-tall down to a manageable screening hedgerow. The aim will to be bring in the front face to maximise the size of the garden and leave it uniform (there are some gaps) and to make the height so that it can be managed by the owners. Main stems will be cut lower than the finished height to allow easy trimming with hedge cutters of the finer growth over the years. Note: There are dead trees within this hedge line, and they will be removed. The longer, lower hedgeline running along the side boundary of the garden is to also be pruned on the front and top to make a privacy hedgerow that is manageable. The 70-80-foot-long run of mixed trees with mainly Plum (Prunus Domestica) will be sympathetically pruned and shaped, with any deadwood removed. Note: There is a large amount of ivy on these trees (and the other hedge) and this should be killed / removed for the long term health of the trees. The Arborist will cut ivy rings to sever the plants from the roots allowing them to die off over time, thereby stopping their strangling effect on the trees.
