Address:
White Cottage Church Lane Cley-next-the-sea Holt Norfolk
Description:
The Tree Protection Plan identified trees to be removed as part of the approved development. These include T1, T2, T5, T6-T11 and T28. This notification also requests permission to remove the following: Pittosporum (T3) at the frontage following heavy and unsympathetic pruning by the utilities company which has significantly depleted its character Stag's Horn Sumach tree (T4) a small tree which is also on the frontage. T3 and T4 will make way for new hedge planting which will form continuous screening along the roadside. Two Birch (T12 and T13) are to be crown lifted to provide 4m clearance over the site (current canopy height is approx 2m above ground level). A Norway Maple (T15) which has a one-sided canopy to the north and east with significant dead limbs. The tree is not suitable for long-term retention owing to its condition and form. Birch Cherry (T16) which is a sprawling tree that the applicant wishes to replace with a significant feature tree. Whitebeam (T21) which is poorly formed with a pronounced included main branch union. A Cypress hedge (H1) runs around the Southern and western boundary. This is to be removed and replaced with Thuja hedging. A row of Hybrid black poplar (G1) which have been managed as pollards in the past and have poor form. (The young Walnut trees growing under them will be retained in the hope that they will develop better once the Poplars are removed).
