- Address:
- 3 HIGHLANDS, SOUTH ROAD, LONDON
- Description:
- REAR: ONE Ash (T1)(ht.14m) FELL. Reason: ash in the centre of the back garden, causing excessive shade, struggle to grow anything in the garden because of it. An arborist has advised removal as affecting paving and encroaching on the cherry tree. There is also subsidence at the rear of the property. It has low amenity value and we are concerned it will get ash dieback. We hope to plant fruit trees or a magnolia in its place. We have a small olive tree and pear tree which may struggle to thrive due to the size of the ash.Informative A: proposed replacement planting with fruit trees and magnolia is greatly appreciated for amenity, wellbeing, wildlife, environment, and climate change mitigation.Informative B: Highlands is divided into flats and may have communal gardens outlook and enjoyment, please obtain consent as appropriate from all residents with garden responsibility/ ownership, see also informative (4) below. Informative C: please coordinate works with other residents (ref tree notice DC/23/130839) to maintain the treed rear garden outlook amenity by possibly retaining either the rear ash (T1) or rear cherry and consider front garden enhancement with planting such as a crab apple tree and front hedge of mixed native species to reflect the verdant character of front gardens in the Perry Vale and Christmas Estate conservation area.Informative D: please use arisings to create habitat log piles, and a linear 'dead hedge' for wildlife and biodiversity.
