Planning applications
November 2018

Type:
Tree and hedge works
Status:
Status not known
Address:
28 Oakwood Avenue Gatley Cheadl
Description:
We are requesting permission to remove a sycamore tree which is on the boundary of a conservation area. The tree has been shedding branches and recently, during strong winds, lost large healthy branches, causing damage to property. It has been recommended to us to have the tree removed primarily for safety reasons. In addition to this there are concerns regarding the structure/health of other large branches and there is evidence of deterioration/rot around the areas of previous damage (main trunk). As the sycamore tree is situated between a pollarded Lyme and very large Beech tree, it is felt that removal of the sycamore would not cause significant disruption to the overall view of the tree canopy/screen.The sycamore tree was the subject of planning application DC/054437, however this work was never carried out and the application has since expired.
