- We are applying for a Tree works: Trees in conservation areas/subject to TPOs for tree felling and maintenance.On Thursday 10th June 2021 a tree fell over across the road which fell onto power lines, a vehicle and into our driveway, this was due to bark included union failing. On Thursday 17th June 2021 a second tree fell into our rear garden and canal causing damage to garden items, the neighbours summer house and blocking the canal for 36 hours causing canal boats to miss lock times as they were unable to pass. We have had a tree survey of the immediate area around the fallen tree and the below immediate action has been recommended, Two pines (3 and 4) on the lower embankment, decayed lower stems, reaction with fluting and decayed roots in evidence, recommend fell.Oak (6) on water edge destroyed canopy, recommend fell.Mature beech (2) leaning towards property over 40% decay at 6m in main stem, recommend fell.Large beech (1) twin stemmed with a bark included union within full range of garage and house. Would cause serious structural damage, recommend fell or reduce to monolith. Pine (7) on the waters edge, reaction wood fluting, decayed lower steam leaning out over the canal, recommend fell.Oak (5) on waters edge, reduce canopy by 2-3 meters.All the above mentioned beech trees also have the following fungus is present, meripilus giganteus. Supplementary evidence to support application to fell and reduction works to trees.
