Tree works at 10 the Orchard Whickham There are a number of reasons for the request but most importantly there are concerns about the size of the tree roots in relation to the proximity to nearby houses and small developments such as conservatory, greenhouses and sheds. Tree roots have begun to displace local patio paving and are inevitably close to household drainage. The tree has completely outgrown the size of its own garden surrounds and encroaches well onto a neighbours property. Shading is a real concern for both properties and there is very little amenity or commercial value to the tree. A sizeable and productive orchard is situated immediately to the front of the property and whilst the applicant would be happy to attempt a transplant ( cutting ) to that orchard, it is already dominated by many mature trees. The tree was planted by a previous householder @1980's many years after the establishment of the original 'The Orchard' housing development @ 1960's
