- There are three Lombardy poplar trees in my back garden approximately 20 feet away from the back of the house. Two of the trees are very large and extremely tall (approx. 100 feet high). There is one much smaller shorter tree which has grown recently. A tree surveyor has inspected the trees for health and well-being including concerns over spreading roots towards the house. The surveyor has suggested removal of the very small poplar trunk and to remove some lower branches in order to provide more light to the surrounding trees and garden area, and to enable the planting of sustainable shrubs around the trees. The largest tree appears to have some hollowing and therefore decay however it has been advised to monitor the tree health for now. TPO#: - 414W.
