- Description:
- Copper Beech- fell. Terminal decline. Tree is leaning to the southern side due to the presence of surrounding trees. Major deadwood within canopy and poor pruning works evident. There is a large canker located on the main stem at approximately 1 metre on the northern and western aspects of the tree with fungal fruiting bodies present. Identified as Rigidoporus. At approximately 4 metres on the northern aspect of the tree Cerioporus squamosus is also present with a fungal bracket of Pleurotus ostreatus located 1 metre higher. With these fungi being present it would be reasonable to suggest that there is a column of decay running through the main stem.
