- We planted a small birch tree c20 years agon in the front garden adjacent to a barn owned by our neighbours. The tree has now grown to a height above the barn and the root system is clearly visible in the garden. We have become concerned that the roots may cause structural damage to the barn over time due its close proximity (c4 feet) and have consulted a local tree surgeon (Robert Barnard (Claydon Trees and Garden Services) for advice. The outcome was a recommendation to remove the tree in order to prevent the risk of future damage to the barn.The tree does not appear on the village plan
