Search company ownership of property

If you need to find out whether a property is owned by a company, or which land a corporate body holds in England and Wales, HouseMetric Company Search is built on HM Land Registry open data for non-private legal owners. That includes UK-registered companies, limited liability partnerships, corporate bodies, and overseas companies that appear on the register of titles.

The underlying datasets are often referred to as CCOD (Commercial and Corporate Ownership Data) and OCOD (Overseas Companies Ownership Data). Together they are the main public source for corporate property ownership at title level in England and Wales.

What you can search

  • Companies House registration number for UK companies
  • UK corporate owners and overseas companies with titles in England & Wales

Corporate vs overseas ownership data

CCOD covers proprietors that are UK companies and similar corporate entities registered in Britain. OCOD covers owners incorporated abroad. For each owner, HouseMetric shows incorporation country where recorded, registration number where supplied, and links through to every matching title with property address and proprietor address from the register.
