Address:
Barrow Mill Mill Lane Barrow Chester Cheshire
Description:
Mature Oak - The tree in question is a mature Oak with reasonable form and vigour although it has been previously reduced in places and has some deadwood present. It is located quite close to the property so will cause a nuisance from time to time but more worryingly has some decay at its base. There is an old fruiting body growing from this decay which looks like Fistulina hepatica (Beefsteak fungus). However, the area of decay appears minor in relation to the overall girth of the tree and seems to correspond with the installation of the hard landscaping. Therefore, we seek consent under the Conservation Area to reduce and reshape the canopy of the tree in order to reduce wind mass and stress on the slightly weakened buttress area and remove all significant deadwood. It is envisaged that the majority of the reduction works will be on the sides of the tree rather than its height.
