Description:
T1 Ash, cut to ground. Tree has evidence of early stage Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus Fraxineus) and a long established infection of Inonotus Hispidus which has been monitored by A.C.Old Treecare since 2013/14. Soundings taken from the main stem on 28/11/19 at 4-4.75 m height on the N.W.side of the main stem indicate a cavity within the stem which extends approx. 0.4m into the diameter, (approx 50% of overall). Further sounding revealed another cavity within limb in upper crown on S.W. side in upper part of limb approx 10-12cm, (approx 30% of overall). Targets within the area include a recently built garage, boundary wall and public highway. Options to re-plant are currently being considered.
