- Description:
- The tree concerned is number T84 on the Borough Council TPO map and is situated in the front garden of 12 Curzon Street. The Tree is a False Cypress and the proposal is to fell the tree as it is about three feet from the porch and less than six feet from the main structure of the house. The root system is in close proximity to foul waist drainage. The tree is so big it is restricting use of the foot path leading from the boundary to the front door. The tree is also at roof height and there are visible signs of damage to the concrete footpath causing potential trip hazard. The tree also restricts view of people entering through the main gate and shields view of the front door from the road, potentially concealing persons committing crime. Two replacement trees Himalayan Birch tree and a Prunus Serrula Tibetan Cherry tree have already been planted to the rear of the property in a more appropriate place to replace the felled tree. The tree is not the original tree for which the preservation order was put in place. This has been deduced from the council TPO map which shows the tree in a different place some 10-15 feet away on the opposite side of the bay window
