Description:
Poplar - fell due to advice from tree surgeon that roots are interfering with structural integrity of the house. Replace with Apple tree. In the three years that we have lived in the house the roots from the tree have grown through the lawn on an increasingly dramatic scale and small shoots have started to appear at the side of the house around 15m from the tree. The tree surgeon explained this may be due to the tree being at the foot of a slope and therefore receiving a lot of water and growing a disproportionate amount.
