Description:
Fell Spruce tree (T1) in rear garden as tree has now outgrown position in garden and blocks light to back third of garden and gardens of surrounding properties. The tree is now approximately 10 metres high and has a span of 5 metres at its widest point. There are several surface roots growing through the lawn surrounding the tree and these extend beyond the span of the tree, extending close to boundary fences. Given its size and position, the tree dominates one third of the garden and has a detrimental effect on surrounding plants due to excessive shading. Propose to remove the tree (and surface roots) and plant a more suitable replacement tree (such as silver birch) in back section of garden. Two additional new trees have already been planted in the garden (T5 & T6). Neighbours have been made aware of our intention to remove the tree and to our knowledge have no objections to felling the tree.

Description:
Removal of Spruce Tree (T1) - fell due to excessive size and position in garden. The existing tree is approximately 10 metres high, with foliage spanning 5 metres across (at the widest point). There are also several large surface roots which extend beyond the span of the foliage which are moving very close to fence boundaries. The tree has outgrown its position within the garden and now dominates the rear third of the garden, causing excessive shading to our and neighbouring gardens which effects the growth of surrounding plants. We propose to fell the spruce tree and replace it with a more suitable garden tree (such as a silver birch in the rear section of the garden) . We have already planted two new acer trees in the garden (T5 and T6). We have spoken to neighbours with common fence boundaries and we are not aware of any objections to felling the spruce tree.
