Description:
T1 Lime - This tree has lost a major limb in the past and so has exposed heartwood which will decay, however there is good reaction growth around the area which will reinforce the remaining tree in time. The limb to the right has been reduced before to reduce the risk of breakage, but has sprouted back which will have increased the weight again. Suggest to reduce the limb weight to maintain safer condition. T2 Ash - The limb on the left of this tree extends approximately 10 metres up at 45 degrees and so is exerting a huge leverage. There is some evidence of decay at the base of the limb, and given the length if the limb were to fail it would reach the car parking area by the houses. The limb has been reduced in the past but has sprouted back. Suggest to reduce the overhanging limb back to lateral at about 7m up. T3 Ash - This tree is in good overall condition and poses no particular risk, but is getting very tall. Option to reduce top spread back to laterals thereby removing approximately 5m from the height. T4 Alder - The alder in the middle of the pond has been previously coppiced but has grown up rather tall. Suggest to cut down the alder which will allow more light to the pond and also reduce the leaf fall into the pond in future. The tree will regrow from the base. G1 Leylandii x 3 - This is a group of 3 trees which have grown up into a large clump which overhangs the adjoining garden. Cutting back the tree into a reasonable shape is no longer really possible, so suggest to remove and replace with a slower growing species such as yew. G2 Field maple x 5 - A group of field maples have been planted along the road but not had any formative pruning. There are several areas of crossing branches or branches close together which will become problem areas as the trees grow, these would benefit from some of the branches being removed while the trees are young.
