- Description:
- We are seeking consent for work to be carried out on a Lime Tree in our garden. We wish to carry out the following work on the tree:1) Cut back the low hanging branches (up to approx 3 meters)2) Reduce the tree in size (by approx 20% of foilage)3) Tidy up the tree and ensure the safety of the tree. The reasons for this request are as follows:We have gained advice from a tree specialist (Molyneux Tree Surgery):1) The tree presents a real danger to my small children as large branches falling could cause injury whilst the children play in the garden. We have experienced many large snapped branches, some up to 2 meters in lenght. This is a huge concern for the safety of our children, as they could suffer serious injury (or even death) if one were to hit them. The advice we gained from the tree specialist indicated that we would continue to experience more snapped branches, due to the condition of the tree. Therefore we want to cut back the low hanging branches, and any damaged branches to ensure the tree does not cause danger to our children.2) The tree is in close proximity to our house, therefore we also have concerns about damage being caused to our house.3) Excessive shading on garden and blocks almost all light to our house. The tree is extremely large and overgrown, and blocks almost all of the light to our house.4) We are unable to utilize alomst 1/4 of our garden due to the size of the tree. The branches of the tree are extremely low hanging and therefore we are unable to use that area of garden. 5) The tree creates excessive amount of debris from leaves which covers the whole garden and damages the grass. Because of this we need to pay forgrass specialists to treat the grass which is an additional cost.
